Joachim joined the SGER group as Postdoctoral Fellow in 2004 and investigated the development and implementation of 3-D structural restoration methods. His research interest was focused on three-dimensional kinematics of folds and thrusts and tectonic evolution of thrust belts (Central Andes, Caspian Sea, etc.).
