Kristian investigated in his thesis the relationship between the fault length and fault displacement. He was also working on the new release of the Community Fault Model (CFM) 2.5, southern California including work on the San Simeon earthquake source. Moreover, he was building a digital map of CFM fault traces that is suitable for map server, and he was improving the rectangular fault model based on the CFM various faults.

Kristian is currently on a journalistic expedition in Chile.
